Like his music has cut in it.weakened/watered down and ultimately, harmless. To me, he pacifies those who like rap but not the "Hood to Table" way. I never hear Ye' bumping out of car systems around the way, despite his success. Each line is packed threats, danger, soul, skill, sex, food for thought, and zero profanity.all while you shaked yo' ass. It's genius.especially by todays' standards. Go and read the lyrics to "I Ain't No Joke" (Rakim was 17 years old), or "Follow the Leader." or any of that mans' shit. Having any list of the greatest rappers with Rakim not at the top means something else is going on. This is my personal list it ain't objective ![]()
